ABOUT OUR SCHOLARSHIPS

The Billy Mason Memorial Foundation will proudly award a $2,500 scholarship to a Spencerport Class of 2025 senior athlete, male or female, who wants to pursue college, trade school or entrepreneurship.

The scholarship will be awarded based on the following criteria:

• Applicants must be a high school senior at Spencerport High School with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must exhibit character on and off the playing field, demonstrating leadership, sportsmanship, a willingness to help others, and respect for teammates/classmates, coaches, teachers, and officials. 

• Completion and submission of below application.

• Two letters of recommendation. At least one letter should be from a teacher or coach. These letters can be emailed directly from the teacher or coach to admin@billymasonmemorialfoundation.org and must be received by 3/3/2025.

• Submission of the application and letters of recommendation to the Billy Mason Memorial Foundation Board of Directors by email by 3/3/2025.

If the recipient will be attending a trade school or technical college, the scholarship will be fully awarded to the recipient after the successful completion of their program or first semester (or equivalent) after graduating high school, providing they attain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent). The recipient must be attending an accredited trade school or technical college and enrolled as a full-time student. The recipient must email a certified copy of their transcript as above.

If the recipient will be starting or running their own business, the award will be paid to the recipient if they are able to provide all of the following (to the email above) for the first 4 months they are in business:

• Customer Satisfaction Survey Results – The recipient requests surveys from their customers and the returned results show at least 80% are either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the business’s product(s) or service(s).

• Return on Investment – The recipient is able to show a return on their investment in their business of at least 5%.

• Increase in Customer/Client Base – The recipient is able to show they have added at least ten new customers/clients.

• Financial Statements – The recipient can provide financial statements for each of the four months.

Documentation of the above along with a copy of your business plan must be emailed as above.
